York Hospital to offer lunchtime webinar on Women’s Health Issues
YORK, Maine – If the new year has you thinking about a “healthier you,” then here’s an event you won’t want to miss. On Wednesday, Jan. 26, from 12 to 1 p.m., York Hospital will host a lunchtime webinar, “What’s Going On Down There? All Your Women’s Health Questions Answered” with Sarah Jean Hanson, MD, FACOG.
Join Dr. Hanson, gynecologist at York Hospital’s OB/GYN Surgical & Midwifery Associates, as she discusses common gynecologic health issues. Her talk will address topics such as: hormone changes and menopause, pelvic floor and bladder health and the role sexuality plays in wellness. “We look forward to an open conversation where questions will be welcomed,” offered Dr. Hanson.
Dr. Sarah Jean Hanson joined York Hospital’s OB/GYN team in 2019. Her prior experience includes a decade at the largest tertiary referral center in the state of Alaska, and two years of international work with Doctors Without Borders and Surgeons Overseas as an obstetrician/gynecologist surgeon in India, Nepal, and South Sudan. Dr. Hanson earned her BS in Biology from George Mason University College of Arts & Sciences in Fairfax, Va., and her MD from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond. She completed her residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, which included serving on an OB/GYN resident team providing health care at a teaching hospital in Thailand. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Free support services for Maine healthcare workers
BANGOR, Maine — As COVID-19 continues to impact our lives, healthcare and frontline workers are struggling to manage the stress of dealing with the virus continually.
In collaboration with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services StrengthenME program, Work Force EAP is offering free support services for all Maine healthcare and frontline workers who may be feeling down, disconnected, or discouraged.
“These are really trying times, particularly for healthcare and frontline workers who are often short-staffed, overworked and navigating all the personal challenges that come with living through a pandemic,” states Work Force EAP Director Sheila Thibodeau, LCSW. “We know workers need to be able to take care of themselves to provide quality care, yet there are so many barriers to accessing support.
